Date: 24 Jul 2025

AUS-MEAT proudly hosted the 2025 Queensland AMIC Apprentice of the Year competition.

AUS-MEAT proudly hosted the 2025 Queensland AMIC (Australian Meat Industry Council) Apprentice of the Year competition, bringing together 16 talented apprentices from across the state to showcase their skills and passion for the retail butchery trade. Held at our state-of-the-art training facility, the competition saw the apprentices put to the test as they prepared a range of lamb, pork, and chicken products for retail sale. Under the watchful eye of a panel of judges, each competitor demonstrated precision, creativity, and a strong understanding of meat handling and presentation. The event highlighted the depth of emerging talent within Queensland’s retail meat sector and reaffirmed the industry’s commitment to developing the next generation of butchers. AUS-MEAT was pleased to support this important initiative and commends all participants for their professionalism and enthusiasm.
